ANDALUSIAN WHITE TOWNS

During this day you will discover the true essence of Andalusia. We will explore the whitewashed houses of Frigiliana, considered one of the prettiest towns in all of Spain.

We will start this activity in the morning, after breakfast, we head directly to this picturesque village, approx. 30 minute drive away.

Then, walk around the beautiful old town center to see the important traces of its past. The Mudejar neighborhood, in particular, stands out for preserving its architectural vestiges of the Muslims who remained in the territory after its reconquest by the Christians.

Keep an eye out for the twelve ceramic plaques that are situated throughout the old section of the village which tell the story of the Moorish uprising and the last battles that were fought in the area.

Among the narrow lanes of whitewashed buildings, we will also see Renaissance (the Palace of Condes, also known as “El Ingenio” for reasons we will prevail) and Baroque (the Church of San Antonio from 17th century) monuments.

A labyrinth of narrow and winding streets, each hiding something just waiting to be explored. Be warned, however, that Frigiliana is built on a mountainside and these streets are steep. Very steep in places.

During this tour, we will have time to visit the beautiful shops of souvenirs that we can find in the village. We will have a break to taste the delicious local products and enjoy the incredible views from the terraces.

We will finish this visit by having lunch in front of the sea and tasting the fresh and delicious local food of this incredible region, Andalusia!
