CANTABRIAN CHAMOIS
The Cantabrian Chamois is the smallest of the subspecies of rupricae, and the mountain chains of the north of Spain it is the only place where it is possible to hunt it. With colors and customs very similar to the Pyrenean Chamois, the size of this trophy is considerably smaller than this one of the Pyrenean area.

We can find this species in the Cordillera Cantábrica, a mountainous range situated in northern Spain, between the provinces of León, Asturias, Cantabria, and Lugo. Hunt of a high mountain, surrounded with incomparable landscapes and with a fauna impossible to find in any other Europa’s side: Spanish ibex, roe deer, deer, wolves, and bears share habitat with the Cantabrian chamois.
From the 1st May to mid-November month is the hunting season for the Cantabrian Chamois. In August, the hunt is closed. Rut time is in the middle of October.
León is the province where we hunt the Cantabrian Chamois. This province is the most extensive in the whole of the Castile Leon region and is in the interior of the northern part of Spain. Its natural heritage includes the Picos de Europa National Park, which can be explored by taking the Route of the Cares river.
You can stay in small hotels in the mountains or lovely rural homes close to the hunting areas for this hunting program. It is a province with great gastronomic tradition and a great wealth of plates different from the mountain; the hunter will be able to enjoy diverse local dishes.
The hunt is an excellent way to explore a place in-depth, and León Region invites the hunters to discover their cultural wealth and explore their countless treasures.
